We’ve loved welcoming new pupils to the school. This is a picture of our Nursery children this year. They’ve settled brilliantly and have enjoyed completing activities about ‘Elfed the Elephant’ and the Autumn. Behind them is our new colourful welcome sign that was made by Dafydd Trefor, a local artist. Thank-you to Phil, Coed Môn for placing it on the wall for us. We’ve hope that you’ve seen the colourful transformation that has happened to our school yard! There were big smiles on everyone’s faces as they stepped out onto the colourful markings for the first time. The yard has been painted with a variety of numeracy, literacy, sports and team building games. There’s even a fun bike track! It was great to be able to host Urdd sessions once again. The members have enjoyed the opportunity to stay after school to complete a variety of activities such as fun games, folk dancing and crafts, all by socialising through the medium of Welsh. Thank you very much to everyone that supported the Infants’ Harvest Festival service. It was lovely to see the school hall full of people from our community once more. The children performed beautifully. It was the first time that many of them had stood in front of an audience! |

Care provision for the children of key workers and vulnerable/disadvantaged children
We kindly remind parents of the guidance from the Welsh Government in regards to the care provision. The guidance can be found here (click on the link). Large numbers of pupils who currently attends the care provision defeats this strict lockdown's objective – we therefore ask you to respect the Government's guidelines. Only book your child into the care provision when there is no other alternative. Having said this, if there is no other option, the care provision will be available every school day for you. We respect that every family’s circumstances are different - the Headteacher has discussed specific situations with some parents, and as a result has agreed access for the children to the care provision for the benefit of the child(ren).
The booking form for the care provision will be sent on Monday (previous week) and must be filled by Thursday night, as the school must plan for the coming week. Here is next week’s booking form (w/c 25/1)
Please don’t hesitate to contact us if we can be of any help to you, or if you want to discuss any issues or concerns. Thank you.

How to support the development of Welsh reading and Welsh language immersion at home
This video promotes some useful apps that all parents; including non-Welsh speaking parents; can use at home to support the development of Welsh reading and Welsh language immersion.
We encourage Foundation Phase parents to download and use all of ‘Llyfrau Magi Ann’ apps. Whilst using ‘Llyfrau Magi Ann’ apps, parents and children are able to read along, listen, and tap individual words to hear pronunciation and to see a translation. The apps are designed to support English speakers. Search for ‘Magi Ann’ on the App Store and Play Store. Please watch this video that also promotes other apps that can help with Welsh reading and Welsh immersion such as ‘Tric a Chlic’, ‘Cyw Tiwb’ and ‘Selog’.
If you require more details about Welsh resources to use at home, please ask the class teachers.
IMPORTANT - of isolation date for YPyB Foundation Phase staff and children has been changed by Public Health Wales to October 13th; meaning they can come back to school on October 14th.
